ITECH and CEPE are offering a new European Graduate program for paints and inks.

The Institut Textile et Chimique de Lyon (Lyon Textile and Chemical Institute) is an engineering school directly descended from the textile, leather and chemistry schools founded by professionals in Lyon more than a century ago. ITECH-Lyon trains engineers in plastics, textiles, composites and chemistry by examining paints, inks, adhesives, cosmetics, leather and its uses (footwear, leather goods). With associative status, ITECH-Lyon is a Grande Ecole created and backed by professional unions and companies. In addition to its main engineering course, ITECH-Lyon offers courses from undergraduate to postgraduate level: BTS (Brevet de technicien supérieur – higher vocational training certificate), professional degree (jointly awarded by the Université Claude Bernard), Post Premier Cycle (postgraduate) and Specialist Masters (Conférence des Grandes Ecoles seal of approval. ITECH Lyon is strengthening its worldwide presence and international exchanges – in the U.S, Europe and China. Though Education is ITECH-Lyon’s primary vocation, industrial relations feature amongst its strengths. These lead to the creation of strong partnerships in the fields of research and development, both regionally, nationally and throughout Europe, but also in continuing professional, graduate and non-graduate education. ITECH-Lyon and its subsidiary, ITECH Entreprises, make their full range of technical and human resources available to companies, by way of various forms of contracts. These services include research projects of one or more years in collaboration with universities, industrial studies, analyses, trials, consultancy, rental of equipment including possible staff secondment (full-time research professors) and vocational training. Recently, ITECH and CEPE (European Council for Paints, printing inks and art color industries) teamed up to offer the new European Graduate program for paints and inks (Engineering degree). Through the new European section, ITECH Lyon is offering a unique opportunity to follow an international career in formulation chemistry. The European section was created to answer the demands of the European industry, which is struggling to recruit specialized engineers in formulation chemistry. “Our school is proud to have been asked by CEPE to create the first European section of engineers in formulation chemistry,” said Louis Reynaud, president of ITECH. It’s a great show of confidence and recognition of the excellency of our teaching. If this section represents for the European industrials of this sector a potential recruitment tool for young specialized engineers who are quickly operational and motivated to pursue an international career, it’s then a great opportunity for young bachelor level chemistry students throughout the world.” Students who participate in the program will benefit from high level education coupled with the support of a company from the section. This is an agreement, which guarantees internships throughout the student’s three years of studying. “Once they graduate, they have the reassurance of being able to find work as European paint, inks and varnishes manufacturers are constantly looking for young specialized engineers in formulation in order to send them abroad,” Reynaud added. “This is a”must-seize” opportunity if you have a Bachelor’s in chemistry, speak English and are eager to discover new horizons and to adapt to multicultural professional environments.”
